There are plenty of ways you can raise funds to offset your schools' carbon emissions. Why not use one of our ideas, or you could come up with something new! (A fundraising poster is available to download below) :
Community Art Wall
Involving students, parents, school partners and local businesses throughout the community, an Art Wall would help improve awareness of sustainability in your local area. The wall within the school would host a collection of small blank tiles available to purchase, helping to raise funds. The purchaser would be tasked with designing the tile on the theme of sustainability, which would then be fixed to the wall (we advise schools that no corporate branding should be allowed).
Sustainability Film Project and 'Premiere'
As part of an in-school project, students could be tasked with creating short films on sustainability. Lasting approximately 1-2 minutes, students would create a plan, a voice over script and a storyboard before going out to produce their film. Once produced, the school could hold a 'Premiere', with admittance fee or donation optional for parents. After the event, the school could also feature the films across The Life Channel screens.
Children's Art Exhibition
Themed on sustainability, students could be tasked with producing a painting, collage or installation. To raise funds, the top ten art pieces could be presented in an exhibition, whether in the school or in a local gallery, and auctioned to parents or community members.
