Glebelands Primary School is the first school in the Cambridgeshire area to implement The Life Channel Schools network, a groundbreaking in-school television channel.
The Life Channel Schools network aims to meet Cambridgeshire Council's priorities for 2009-2012, including helping children and young people feel safe and happy in their communities; narrowing the gap in outcomes for children and young people; improving outcomes for children and young people with learning difficulties, disabilities and complex needs; meet the needs of children and young people in areas of growth or demographic change.
Lisa Sharratt, Headteacher at Glebelands Primary School in Chatteris, said, "The children are delighted to see more of themselves within the playlists. [The Life Channel Schools network] is proving an excellent way to share both activities and celebrations in school, both between pupils and with parents."
"We have organised the playlists to showcase year groups and as time passes we will be able to make better links to the curriculum," added Sharratt. "We have plans to use the outdoor screen to promote greater physical activity at lunchtime and playtime and hope to involve the children more in that."
