The Life Channel is launching its groundbreaking school television network at Burton College in Staffordshire, 8th June.
Howard Brierley, Assistant Principal for Collaboration and Learner Services at Burton College, said, "The wellbeing and health of our 2,500 16-18 year old students is very important to us, and The Life Channel is an excellent medium for promoting important messages to them. The Life Channel is also a useful vehicle in promoting the Every Child Matters agenda, about wellbeing, safety and achieving potential.â??
Much of the channel's content is produced in-house in response to teacher feedback and is also supplemented by appropriate third party programmes, including the COI. Content includes eating well; having an active, fun-filled life; respecting oneself and others - with significant emphasis on bullying and peer mentoring; avoiding drink and substance misuse; helping others and inspiring aims through achievement.
