The Life Channel is coming to Nottinghamshire!

The Life Channel is coming to Nottinghamshire!

5 Feb 2009

The Life Channel has built up an exciting partnership with The Life Channel TV network in an effort to get key health and well-being messages across to patients in the area.

The 2008 Health Profile for Nottinghamshire suggests the rate of road injuries and deaths in the area is higher than the England average, with 600 people seriously injured or dying on local roads each year; smoking kills at least 1300 people every year in the area; and the rate of hip fracture in those aged over 65 is higher in Nottinghamshire compared with the England average. The Life Channel's innovative network gives doctors' surgeries the unique opportunity to communicate directly to people most affected by these vital health issues, as well as to promote awareness of other local needs.

"Our key aim is to improve the health and wellbeing of people in Nottinghamshire", said Matt Youdale, Director of Communications and PR at NHS Nottinghamshire County. "We want to inspire local communities to live more healthily, whatever their background. The Life Channel will help us to do this, at the very time that people are accessing NHS services."
