The Life Channel has successfully launched its bespoke Doctors surgery television service across Hammersmith and Fulham Primary Care Trust (PCT).

The launch, hosted by The Life Channel on behalf of Hammersmith & Fulham Primary Care Trust was attended by over 80 senior professionals from across the Hammersmith & Fulham area. Disciplines represented included Doctors and Practice Managers, Senior PCT Executives, representatives from Local Government, Local Strategic Partnerships, Football in the Community, Housing, Regeneration and Domestic Violence.

The launch signifies that with over 74% of surgeries across Hammersmith & Fulham agreeing to host The Life Channel, the channel can now provide PCT and other users of the service with the ability to reach an estimated 500,000 patient visits in the first year alone. This provides an ideal platform for key stakeholders to communicate relevant messages directly to patients and members of the Hammersmith & Fulham community.

In many instances speakers showcased their campaigns which are running or soon to run on the Channel over the next few months, including amongst others a message created specifically by The Life Channel for Hammersmith and Fulham PCT entitled 'Smoke Free Fulham'.

Miles Freeman, Hammersmith & Fulham Primary Care Trusts' Associate Director responsible for general practice, said: "We're confident The Life Channel is going to be a great success. Putting the TV screens into surgeries helps modernize waiting rooms and gives patients something interesting to watch while waiting to see the doctor or nurse. It's a big improvement on staring at the walls or flicking through an old magazine."
