Competition winners from the University of Central Lancashire recently visited The Life Channel to discuss their ideas for a rail safety campaign. Northern Rail and UCLAN ran a competition for students to submit proposals for an advert on rail safety, with the winning proposals being made into infomercials that would then be aired on The Life Channel.
Northern Rail Community Safety Manager, David Wilkinson, and the two winning teams visited The Life Channel to meet with the graphic designers and make the first steps of turning their ideas into reality. Two campaigns will be broadcast on The Life Channel, one of which is about the hazards of being drunk near the railways and the other is about safety on the platform and the importance of staying behind the yellow line
This is the second year that Northern Rail has run this competition and The Life Channel is delighted that it can play its part in tackling such an important issue. Graphic artists from The Life Channel are working hard and the new campaigns will run in 2012.
