The Life Channel has an established relationship with Universal Music to promote new albums to our core audiences.
The latest album to appear on The Life Channel is Chant by The Cistercian Monks of Stift Heiligenkreuz. Performing live solely in Vienna, the monks have already been reported to be favourites of Pope Benedict and are braced for wider fame.
The monks were selected to record their debut commercial album with Universal Music after submitting their entry via Youtube to a competition searching for sacred singers.
Singing Gregorian Chant, a form of prayer sung before the alter, the monks create a magical and evocative sound that is immediately calming and deeply moving.
Recent research suggests that listening to this music can really help with stress relief.
'The control of the breathing, the feelings of wellbeing that communal singing bring, and the simplicity of the melodies, seem to have a powerful effect on reducing blood pressure and therefore stress'
