How to download and play programmes

One of the biggest benefits of using the The Life Channel programming library is the ability for you to be able to show students The Life Channel Schools programmes whenever you wish on a range of different platforms, from PCs and interactive whiteboards to projectors.

To download any content you wish, all you have to do is follow the following four simple steps:

1. Log in and go to the video library.
   
    
2. Select from its archive any relevant content you want to show on your school network. We highly recommend you view this content to ensure you are happy with the contents before downloading.
    
3. Click on the download button to copy a high resolution version of the programme to the machine you are using. You will be asked where you want the file to be saved and choose the appropriate folder.
    
4. Once downloaded to the PC you were accessing The Life Channel website on, you can then simply copy the WMV file (the programme) onto other presentation devices (e.g. an interactive whiteboard) where you can store it indefinitely for play-out at a future time, at the click of a button!

In order to transfer the programmes (WMV files) to other presentation devices, seek advice from your school representative who can help check compatibility and transfer the files to other devices and ready them for playback as necessary.
