Business Model

The Life Channel, established in 2002, was designed to deliver practical information and advice on a variety of health and wellbeing issues to patients waiting to see their GP.

Whilst there have been many changes over the past seven years, the fundamental message of The Life Channel remains the same - promoting health & well-being and celebrating life.

Supporting policies implemented by the Department of Health, The Life Channel broadcasts a series of engaging programmes informing audiences of ways in which they can live healthier, happier lives, such as maintaining a well-balanced diet or daily exercise, encouraging personal health management and promoting community cohesion.

The success of The Life Channel has seen considerable growth, not only in terms of GP Surgeries but also into additional venues including Schools & Colleges, Pharmacies, Play Centres, Opticians and Dental Practices. The network has also been implemented internationally, engaging audiences within Schools & Colleges and in GP Surgeries in Northern Ireland, as well as in Hospitals in South Africa.

The Life Channel's programming is refreshed each month and is relevant to audiences found within each venue, ranging from infant and primary school children right through to the elderly.

As a community focused network, our team is highly involved in engaging audiences locally in partnership with Primary Care Trusts, local authorities and community agencies, working together to keep the community informed of the issues they may face in their everyday lives.

The Life Channel is designed to work as an efficient communications tools for the GP's and Practice Staff, helping to inform viewers of Practice Information such as opening times, repeat prescriptions, clinics and vaccinations. This provides the surgery with ownership of the channel and encourages them to sign up to our service.
